When I went to college, I went to one two towns over from my parents house. So instead of staying at the dorms, I just stayed home (where it was free for me!!) My Husband choose a college two hours away from home so he stayed at the dorms.
When I first met Ben, he had just graduated from college, and had his first apartment. He was still living like a college kid!! His apartment had very little furniture, and what it did have was alcohol related!! He had a huge liquor cabinet, and posters on the walls teaching you how to make certain drinks. It took me awhile to convince him it was time to say goodbye to college life and join the land of adults.
We both still miss those days though. Care and fancy free!!
We have a couple more years before we have to start worrying about our kids heading to college, but I know a lot of you have just sent your kids, or are about too!!
There are a lot of things you need to get before living in the dorms. Simple appliances, bedding, shower caddy's and of course food are top priorities, but I bet you forgot a nice rug. Most dorm rooms have cold floors, and who wants to wake up to that!!

Yes that is a gorgeous lavender rug, and boy is it soft!! It feels like silk!! It is also thin, so it is very easy to fold up and transport with you. Another thing I love about it is it's non slip backing. This rug will not slip out from under you when you are quietly sneaking back in your room at night as to not wake up your roommate!!
